Yes, it’s a difficult situation. The communities lose their original ambiance, but at the same time, change can be for something good.

I don’t think it’s that fair being part of something if you’re not actually contributing. In my case, it got reduced to them linking to me and vice versa, and it really shouldn’t just be some sort of link exchange program.

But I guess we all move on and nothing on the web is really permanent.

You’re the fourth member of 9rules whose site I visit regularly who has decided to leave 9rules due to the membership agreement changes. Their reasons for leaving are the same as yours, lack of time. It’s unfortunate that so many members are leaving, but I can understand 9rules reasons for the changes.

I’m a member of another web community who is also going through “growing pains”. Many people have joined recently, the original members are no longer participating, and the sense of community and comraderie I felt in the past no longer exists.
