– Ping when you have published something new

Most parts are technical, but never underestimate good content, word usage etc.

Friendly <abbr title="Uniform Resource Locator">URL</abbr>'s and pinging are a great help, as opposed to the static pages that I used to write. It took weeks for them to get listed. With WordPress, it takes a few hours to (max) a few days, at least that's what I've experienced. I have found that WordPress is a huge plus to SEO.
