i love trig ! its a great community for creatives of all types my-space is so fueled by bands all vying for the top spot on Pop Radio
Trig is a bit underground but someday it will resemble My-space even more so enjoy it while it lasts

Oskar,

Good to see you here! :-)
Very valid points, and I lean towards agreeing a 100% with what you say.

Nope. It is not a MySpace killer. To late, not enough to difference it. And also they don't have a marketing plan. They thought making it look better and having some more features would make the 200 million or so users of MySpace come over. I think MySpace is pretty unstoppable in their niche.

Facebook is the new MySpace if any but it's a bit different as it is much more closed and more targeted towards college and university people.

Otherwise I think someone has to come with a more radical community experience to topple MySpace. Like Second Life.

I wasn't that impressed by trig as its basically myspace with web 2.0 features... although I must say that they have done a very good job!
I found this other relatively unknown community called Zaplife.com that looks quite promising.

I don't use any of the services mentioned, but I know with all those blog services, communities, photo sites, etc.. it gives me a headache. Just like MSN, yahoo, ICQ, etc.. your friends are scattered everywhere :( Gawd I can't keep up! How do you decide where to go, who's safe, and juggle all your friends, and mostly keep up on all those profiles everyone is making at each and every service! And.. there's so much stuff on all the sites I get confused LOL. Robert, I went to both myspace, and trig.. myspace will definately get bonus points for speedy page delivery.

Personally I do not think it will become the MySpace killer and neither will Virb. Why not? Well for one majority of the market are still on MySpace and it will take more than pretty looks and nifty tools to make them move.

About a month or so ago, I wrote a blog post about why I did not think Virb would be a MySpace killer and I guess you can use the same reasons why this will not either...

Marcus,

At the moment, the only way to rearrange your tunes is to add them in the reverse order that you want them in the playlist.

As for autostart, it's a preference in Settings > Privacy.

Nice! Signed up yesterday evening myself, so go and listen to a few of my tracks: http://trig.com/wobbler

Still haven't found out how the hell I rearrange the order of songs in the palylist though. And, how do I set the tunes to autostart? Am I just a lamuhr that doesn't understand??

Jeff,

He he. :-)

Andreas,

Yes, it is.

Lauren,

Yes, I can imagine that Virb is a strong competitor. It seems a bit sluggish, though.

jamjammo,

There are a number of skins available, but when it comes to customizing, I'm not sure if you will be content. You just have to try it out, I guess. :-).

I'm not a fan of MySpace, but I do know that my friends like it because they can customize it (to some degree).
I didn't register for TRIG, but if it provides adequate freedom to its users to customize their pages with minimal effort, THAT would make it closer to being a MySpace Killer.
